Privacy Policy

Catchments is designed to help people view school catchment information without turning that activity into advertising data. Catchments does not sell personal data and does not track users across apps and websites.

Information handled by the app

Catchments can process address search text, selected locations, visible map areas, route requests, saved properties, notes, recent searches, disclaimer acceptance, and downloaded cache files. School catchment boundaries and school profile data are downloaded from public NSW, Victorian, Queensland, and ACARA or public education sources.

Apple MapKit services

Address search, selected locations, map display, and route estimates are handled through Apple MapKit services. Apple may process those requests under Apple’s own privacy terms. Catchments does not receive an advertising identifier from MapKit and does not use MapKit activity to track users across apps or websites.

Saved data and iCloud

Saved properties, notes, recent searches, disclaimer acceptance, and cache files are stored by the app so Catchments can work predictably between launches. The first release is expected to keep saved user data local to the device. If iCloud or CloudKit sync is enabled before App Store submission, this policy and the App Store privacy answers must be updated to describe that sync.

Retention and deletion

You can delete saved properties in the app and clear downloaded cache files from app settings when that control is available. Uninstalling Catchments removes local app data from the device. If iCloud or CloudKit sync is enabled in a future release, you can also manage synced app data through Apple account and device settings.

Data-source accuracy

Catchments uses public source data to make school boundary research easier, but school enrolment rules can change. Always verify enrolment eligibility and catchment boundaries with the relevant education department or school before making decisions.
